Green Tree is a small and friendly locally run guest house, restaurant, and bar in Chiang Khong. We have a range of single, twin, double, and family rooms and A-frame bamboo chalets to let. Our rooms are clean and set in quiet green surroundings, with shared facilities; prices range from 150-300 Bath per room night.

In-front of the guest house is our?restaurant and bar area; we have a bamboo built section with a floor/low seating area and a new terraced seated dining area, where we serve up great local Thai food as well as Italian classics and fusion dishes and drinks all day long.?

We open for breakfast at 7.15am daily (closed for food on Sundays), and also offer takeaway baguettes and packed lunches for the boat journey to Laos (we also sell Laos boat tickets).

In the bar we serve up everything from fruit shakes and fresh coffee to cocktails and wines by the carafe.?

Finding us

We are situated on the main road through town, right between the old and new areas. The guest house is in-front of the Namkhong Riverside Hotel, and is a 1 kilometer 30 Bath tuk-tuk ride from both the bus station and Laos border crossing.

Hand-made local crafts

In our craft shop we have a large range of regionally hand made, and our own hand crafted, jewelry, clothes, bags and other accessories, as well as a wide range of fabrics and other material based products.?

We not only retail, but also export in small quantities - all made to order to your own designs.

Our guesthouse and restaurant area now have high speed WIFI available, at a nominal cost,

We also now have facilities to take and produce instant pictures - ideal souvenirs, or we can even make them into laminated postcards! BUT - this means you no longer need to worry about passport pictures, we can prepared then while you relax in the bar...

Here's a selection from our daily menu

Breakfast - from 7.15 am

Cereals, Muesli, milk and yoghurt. Toast, eggs, and fresh fruit salads, baguettes, fresh coffee, various teas, juices and soft drinks.

Lighter bites and takeaway food

Fresh filled baguettes and packed lunches, garlic bread, bruschetta, garlic mushrooms, cheese on toast, omelets, spring rolls, sandwiches and various salads.

Main meals

Various Italian and fusion pasta dishes, and a good selection of meat and vegetarian Thai dishes available until 10.00 pm.

Drinks

Fresh coffee by the carafe, fresh fruit juices and shakes, herbal and regular tea, beers, spirits various cocktails and house wines by the glass or carafe.
